We inspected and reported
WLAN operation in 54 sites
Executive summary: Inspection and report of the WiFi Connection of 54 sites Mexico. Solution based on professional services.
Client: A multinational food, snack, and beverage corporation
CRG has a well-proven record of successful experiences working with Wireless Local-Area Connection (WLAN). At the same time, having a specialist with a CWNE certificate (Rafael Torres) on our staff makes us a desirable option in the market when looking for WLAN solutions.
With this in mind, we participated in an RFP for a project for a global-scale client of the beverage industry that works in processes like fabricating, selling and distributing beverages and snacks. We received the contract in the third quarter of 2021.
Problem statement
After the pandemic in transitioning from WFH to a hybrid work model, the company required an inspection of its WLAN installations. The main objective was to find any problems to be fixed and, at the same time, to ensure the best installation performance.
The job’s specifications included visits to 40 sites in different areas of Mexico. They needed maintenance, improvement, or re-installation. Later, the project added 14 sites after the client received some connection issues reports’.
The project involved many installations where network connections are a daily part of their processes.
During the inspection process, our teams visited plants, cellars, offices and service facilities in Cancún, Veracruz, Quintana Ro. As well in Querétaro, Toluca, Monterrey and several others.
The project started on April 2022 and was planned for the next nine months, with a specific amount of locations that need to be inspected each month.
Recommended solution
The various locations made us look for teams in several parts of the country that could accurately explain what to change, exclude, include or adapt. Passive, active and predictive inspections determined the following steps after analyzing the actual WiFi Installations.
This part of the process allowed our teams to proactively suggest changes. Applying them will make the client count on the best WLAN installation on each site. Some of them involved updating the systems, changing the settings of devices, or relocating equipment.
The detailed list in the reports included the adjustments to be made. In addition, they came up with a list of suggestions that explained the possible complications of each site and solutions to mitigate problems in the short term.
“The client deposits their trust in our comments, including the red flags the engineers gave to them. That’s what a consultant process is about”, says Alejandra Canales. She is Business Admin located in Mexico, who took part in the WLAN operation in 54 sites.
Conclusion
The WLAN operation in 54 sites is an ongoing project in which each visit and inspection of each site counts as one milestone.
Therefore, as we close the visit per site, the client shares their feedback. This allows us to understand how well our teams have concluded their tasks. We have received comments on an excellent customer experience, with the applied results in engineering, as a list of specific and detailed suggestions.
It’s crucial to indicate that a different partner will handle the location changes. That was defined according to the documents prepared by our teams.
With the coordination of the teams in Mexico, we have been able to change the deadlines to experience no delays. In fact, in any case, no irregularities have been registered yet, following the Project Manager’s timeline set in advance.
